Lady Linger
Lady linger takes me by the hand
Laden in her fingers is a land
Known to no one other than those she holds
Slowly, gently she unfolds
"Time holds no fixed structure"
She said then
Lady linger punctured
Tall still stands
Gold thin heart still melting in the sand
Strength that no one understands
Why is she here while the rain keeps pourin'
Eyes so clear
When the fog settles down
As mountains crumble in the sky she's soarin'
Lady linger won't go away and won't come down
Laying in a field of grass she sighed
"Even if I'm shattered I won't cry
The ocean doesn't need another salty tear
So until a smile comes I'll stay here
I know I've had my chances
To jump right off the cliff
To talk about romances
And all the things I've missed
But all I have is this expanse
Set out in front of me
So as long as this soil accepts me
I'll linger and I'll be
Here when the rain keeps pourin
When the fog settles down
When mountains crumble: Soaring
I won't come down
No I won't come down
I won't come down."
