THE WINE OF YOUTH

While we still hold the cup in our hands
The fleeting treasure of youth, we know
We're living life to it's full measure
For the fruit of love is growing
When the wine of youth is flowing

And while we hear life's distant bells still ringing laughter
We're full of hope, we're blessed with joy, we have no care

Time, so swiftly flies, our summer skies soon slip away

Each chandelles sadness, so timeless

And then in vain, we cup our hands and catch but sorrow
Each drop of time, like falling rain, knows no tomorrow
We can't hold and sip forever from the wine of youth

Before we learn to smile, our smiles are behind us
Before we learn to live, our life has run away
In a momentary sigh, before we understand
We watch it all go by
We'll never know that time, time again
