The Best of Us
Three O' clock sitting on the bus
Alone and kept to myself
Kept my head held down while all around
The other kids just screamed and yelled
Walking through my old front door
Dragging my red and sunken eyes
Father asked what's wrong my son?
I said I can't live with theses lies
Then he said to me
It happens to the best of us
Take a look and turn around
Sometimes we fly
Sometimes we hit the ground
It happens to the best of us
Been down thesе roads before
Now our paths may change
But wе're all searching for more
It happens to the best of us
Roaming ‘round those high school halls
Always just a nervous wreck
Awkward glances, bashful looks
I’m told it’s all just in my head
But no one really understood
How I felt or so it seemed
At least had a couple friends
Who listened in with empathy
And they said to me
It happens to the best of us
Take a look and turn around
Sometimes we fly
Sometimes we hit the ground
It happens to the best of us
Been down these roads before
Now our paths may change
But we're all searching for more
It happens to the best of us
It Seems the years have changed my fate
As I step right off this stage
Surrounded by friends that I care for would do anything for
I've pushed so hard and through those tears
So I don’t have to cry anymore
It happens to the best of us
Take a look and turn around
Sometimes we fly
Sometimes we hit the ground
It happens to the best of us
Been down these roads before
Now our paths may change
But we're all searching for more
It happens to the best of us
Now our paths may change
But we're all searching for more
