Homage to the jewel that’s within the lotus 
I sit still and I begin to focus  
I know the feeling when you’re feeling hopeless 
the only thing that’s real is in this moment 
Life is still a mystery
futuristic history couldn’t see the present 
and I used to let it get to me 
healing transformation 
needed amputation 
from the things I was afraid of for my inner activation 
I was watching Aristotle 
philosophies I borrow 
Yesterday is not tomorrow 

so today is what I follow 
Gifted by the present 
I’m lifted by the presence 
of my great grandmother who predicted my ascendence 
so why I feel so low though 
Really though I don’t know though 
Maybe it’s the coco or the fear of living slow mo 
Or maybe it’s the vocals 
of the teachings I ignored so 
now I feel it in my spirit manifested in my torso
I admit I’m blinded 
women gold and diamonds 
All my insecurities expressed through my desires 
Take it for the love of it hate myself because it 
still I sit in Meditation waiting for the mothership 
What have I discovered 
through my blood and through my struggles 
maybe wisdom is the belt 
and then compassion is the buckle 
recognize the emptiness 
combined with inner friendliness
If I ever forget it I just pray that I remember this

In this world of murder and fear and hate 
Hard to figure out what is real and fake 
all my travels across the interstate 
took me deeper into that inner place 
beginners mind is silence 
ignorance is violence 
Anxiety is terrible 
and mine is so unbearable 
that if I ever overcome it 
it’ll be a miracle 
I know I’m here to witness who I am 
but through the mirrors view 
Every day is heaven 
Every day is hell 
every day I fall apart 
every day I prevail 
rising and the falling 
like the night into the morning 
I’ve been fighting all along 
to be a light inside the storm but 
maybe I should let it go 

scan the body head to toe 
And hold myself with kindness 
when self hatred is susceptible 
understand the moment 
is another passing episode 
And if it gets too difficult 
I just take a breath and go
