When the world emerges from the pause
What will the neighbors say?
Will they still be wary
Or will they give you the time of day?

Will we scream "Let me go back
Where solitude is law"?
Or rejoice "thank God the world
Emerges from the pause"?

When the world emerges from the pause
What will we hear and see?
Will flags of gules and sable
Fly where stars and stripes could be?

Could we find ourselves without
An overarching crown?
Or will soldiers marching
Put dissenting voices down?

When the world emerges from the pause
It will not be the same
Unprecedented times call for
Unprecedented change

We must cooperate to survive
Take matters in our hands because
It's up to us when the world
Emerges from the pause
