You Are the Place
Well I bought a new suit
I got my Uncle's old brown wing tip shoes
Cleaned myself up the best that I could
Spent an hour in the mirror just trying to make things disappear
When the magician runs out of tricks that's when he starts running
Then you came in wearing that dress
That made me look like even more of a mess
You smiled and asked me if I knew where I was heading
So I made some kind of joke
You didn't laugh and neither one of us spoke
And right then darling I knew that your were sure something
Ooh stranded on the border
Back and forth across the interstate line
Trying to find somewhere that I might stay
Now I know hey I know you are the place
So I ran tried to hide from Dallas to Denver to the Upper West Side
Tried Columbus then London out in the rain
Valencia came and it went so I roamed around in Brighton a bit
And even Amsterdam just wasn't enough for the pain
I can feel the gravity pulling me home
Just like an ancient sailor with the sky and the stars
Maps that I followed before always lead me to nothing
Now I just find myself running right back where you are
