The Day Before Forever
She was fragile, she was broken
And her weary heart was aching
For she learned that men betray the words they say
And though he swore that he would love her 'til the day before forever
Yet she wouldn’t let herself be fooled again that way
And he begged her to believe him
But her lonely heart was bleeding
For the many times she'd heard those words afore
And her souls eternal winter, couldn't let somebody enter
As she double locked and bolted all the doors
And he said, "Maybe you'll believe me on the day before forever
Maybe then our dreams will all come true
I'll meet you at the graveyard on the day before forever
And we'll lie there side by side among the white snow covered tombs."
As the days continued turning still his yearning heart was burning
To convince her that forever would come true
And though she knew that she loved him
Still she never would believe him
And the madness in his heart began to grow
Oh yes it grew
'till he held her body tightly and he pushed the knife in gently
And he felt the warmth as the blood began to flow
Then he gave her one last kiss
Cut the veins around his wrist
And as they died their blood was mingled
As it coloured in the snow
And he said "Now you will believe me on the day before forever
Maybe now our dreams will all come true
For I met you in the graveyard on the day before forever
And we'll die here side by side amongst the white snow covered tombs
Amongst the white snow covered, white snow covered tombs…"
