Some water tastes colder
Been rattling through time
In and out bodies
Up into the sky
The oldest known water
Found deep in a mine
Spent billions of years
Bubbling in brine
Miles below rock
That old ocean flowed
Full of microscopic creatures
All together and all alone
So close to the edge

The first living cell
Growing fat in the shallows
Met the first stranger
When it split down the middle
But once made separate
There's no going whole
