The Brightest Black
I met the end and it spoke to me
Told me this pain is ours
In a place where hours felt like eternity
I thought there was no way out
I saw the hourglass and the flowing sands
It told me I could never turn it back
And why to keep moving forward
It takes moving past the past to realize
Hope is the other face of despair
Let the beams of light shine through
The cracks you've formed
Illuminate the path forward
One more try
Become the memory you wish to be
Sure it will cost you
But in loss we find what we're made of
I met the embodiment of
All I've ever contemplated
Showed me who we truly are
A man can become more than the sum of
All his forgotten scars
Beneath the broken Earth we all lie
In our final resting place
So the time in-between is all that matters
Don't let it go to waste
Embrace a new beginning
Seize the chance given
One more time
Believe and we can rise above
It will cost us
But in loss we find what we're made of
