Carry on and smile once more, ooh, ooh ooh

As long as I remember my dream has been the same:
To tell my lifetime story to the world.
One thing I did not know: everything’s a GAME!
That’s why no one ever heard a single word.

I took my guitar to the East, then I went back to the West
I had also plans to visit South and North…
But they all turned a deaf ear when I offered them my best,
So I kept on goin’ on back and forth…

I recall my daddy’s words I’ve heard at our home’s door
So I’m holding on and I’m smiling on

No one paid attention to what I wished to say,
Moscow, Paris, London, Berlin – all the same!
But some old happy hippies listened careful when I’ve played
Just recently down San Francisco Bay.

They said:
“Hey, you’re doin’ swell, so keep ringin’ loud that bell!
Your stories people now, we’ve lived them through;
Once we wished to change the world, our words were not enough… what the heck!
We’ve missed the point but you won’t find us blue, yeah!”
