Oh My Christmas Tree
Oh, my Christmas tree
Will never get to grow
Into all it's mighty rings
But for a month or so
All the joy I don't know
And all the spirit that it brings
Dime store hopes
They're hanging in rows
And I'm wondering what could they mean
Old Ebenzer's free
With wires for roots
And an angel cut from an old magazine
Oh, my Christmas tree
Will never get to grow
Into all it's mighty rings
But for a month or so
All the joy I don't know
And all the spirit that it brings
Wouldn't ya know
Them bulbs used to grow
Like apples for picking from trees
And its spirit's forever
And life overflows
And it must be why they call it
The evergreen
Oh, my Christmas tree
Will never get to grow
Into all it's mighty rings
But for a month or so
All the joy I don't know
And all the spirit that it brings
There's still some of them out there
In the snowy night
There's some of them inside by the fire
They glaze through the window
Of love's warm glow
And they dream of growing up
Higher and higher
Oh, my Christmas tree
Will never get to grow
Into all it's mighty rings
But for a month or so
All the joy I don't know
And all the spirit that it brings
