Morning Bear
John Runnels
Morning broke like a water glass to the floor, to the floor
Saw your face for the first time in a year or more, a year or more
Light spilled out, across the river shore
You arise, calling out for your morning bear, morning bear
Soaking wet, coming out the shower with tousled hair, with tousled hair
Light flows in, illuminates the air
Morning broke like a water glass to the floor, to the floor
Saw your face for the first time in a year or more, a year or more
Light spilled out, across the river shore
