Hazy

I don't take offence
First I'll check the evidence
The grim attack on common sense
Has made me step back

Over many years
I quietly settled in a maze
The air is thin but I don't faint
Still I can't escape

Sometimes I'm hazy
On what's on my mind
Reflection needs time and the casual rewind
Take or leave it
But don't leave for good
Please only erase all that's misunderstood

Here is one more case
Of a chance I blew again
Another fight I feared to face
I'm up for a change

Someday I will start
To lift my head and pump my heart
I'll scrape the rust and blow the fog
Away from it all
