Flower That Flies

James Lynch

Once the snow's melted, a warm breeze and green grass arrive
There on a leaf lies a flower of colors divine
She wants to just touch it and to her surprise
It flutters she stutters from shock as it flies, awfully high
Up towards the sun in the sky

Calmly she waits in the warm dark space of her mind
For her time to wake up, spread her wings and to fly has arrived
Though she never felt pretty, right now she's prepared
To shine like the flame that just always been there, and that's why
She's now a flower that flies

Lift me up to the heavens, and through the blue sky
Knowing deep in my heart that I never will die
May I always do good though I never know why
That all good things come true for a flower that flies

She looks out the window daydreaming in a cloudless spring sky
When the fluttering flower descends and sits there by her side
She invites her to stay, "you'll be safe here with me"
But she knows in her heart that that never can be, just can't be
For even her flower must fly

Lift me up to the heavens, and through the blue sky
Knowing deep in my heart that I never will die
May I always do good though I never know why
That all good things come true for a flower that flies
