After the war was over
I sat down on the bloody ground
Where we’d been fighting
With all the bodies scattered ‘round
I heard them asking “what was this all for?”
But it looks like you don’t hear them anymore
A hush descended
It seemed to last for years and years
Though no one was speaking
They did the talking with their tears
They kept on asking “what was this all for?”
