Sing About Me

[Verse: Hiatus]
Ever since birth, yes, I've been questioning purpose
Wondering what it is that makes life worth it
And often I pondered in verses if mine could be worthless
Nobody's flawless, but I think to get closest to perfect
You gotta put work it, put work in, I don't mean doing dirt
I mean like pour yourself into others, giving others some worth
Write your name in the cement they call you a vandal at first
But you're only going to wash away if you write it in dirt
When Adverse's gramps passed away I began pondering life
What made him so sad to see his granddad in the sky?
And why could he smile although his role model had died?
I realized that the lessons he taught were somehow still alive
I began to realize that if a man can show love
Then that love never dies, it can live on through his sons
Learned that all it takes to stop hatred's total control
Is for one man to inspire exponential type growth
There's hope for the youth if there's one mind set on legacy
And if that's you there's a spot for you next to me
Let's go inspire a tomorrow that's even better the next day
Inspire mankind to get to the next phase
Not talking evolution, I'm talking maturing
Is what Darwin should've studied, that's all that's assuring
Our survival, and it's all that's affirming
Our capacity for life and halting the summons for juries
Scared of progression got us stuck in recession
Scared to death of the truth, so we lack comprehension
The degeneration of the generation got me apprehensive
Forgive the harshness, but nothing stretches if it doesn't have tension
So it's blunt force with every stroke of the pen
Every bar a dart into the hearts of these men
The moment the song ends is where the mission begins
To go out and make a difference that they'll never forget

[Outro X2]
Promise that you'll sing about me forever
Promise that you'll sing about me forever
Oooh oooh oooh
