Who’s Minding the Garden
There's a bay up in Alaska oh so cold and clear
A home for creatures great and small
Till the pipeline appeared
That bring us fuel to heat our homes
And gas for us to drive
Now the sea is black with oil
And all the fish have died
So who`s to tell us why
There's a forest in Brazil sheltered by the rain
Where the tall trees make the air we breathe
Till the cattle barons came
They clearеd the land for grazin'
Fifty thousand trees a day now the Amazon's on fire
And that's progrеss they say
But what a price to pay
Who's minding the garden?
Who's holding the seed?
Are they planning for tomorrow
Or just harvesting their dreams?
There's a line in the Bible
Says we'll reap what we sow
And who'll mind the garden
When the garden won't grow?
Who's minding the garden?
Who's minding, who's minding?
There's children in the city
No one cares how they feel
Their playground was the city park
Till the drug lords made their deals
Now cars drive by night and day
And sometimes shots ring out
But no one hears their cryin'
And no one hears their shouts
Is this what life's about?
Who's minding the garden?
Who's holding the seed?
Are they planning for tomorrow
Or just harvesting their dreams?
There's a line in the Bible
Says we'll reap what we sow
And who'll mind the garden
When the garden won't grow?
There's a line in the Bible
Says we'll reap what we sow
And who'll mind the garden
When the garden won't grow?
Who's minding the garden
Who's minding
When the garden won't grow?
Who's minding, who's minding?
Who's minding the garden?
Who's minding, who's minding?
Who's minding the garden?
