The Good Ol' Days

Saw an old friend on the holidays
One I hadn't seen in years
We both talked about the memories
All the laughs and all the tears

Now it all feels like so long ago
Another lifetime in the past
When we thought we had it figured out

Today a song came on the radio
Made me think of my ex-wife
That one we danced to on our wedding day
When I promised her my life

Now it all feels like so long ago
Another lifetime in the past
When we thought we were on top of the world
But it was just an hourglass.

Now I sit here with this ol’ guitar
Thinkin’ 'bout the life I lead
I'm so thankful for those memories
And all the good times in between .
