Burnout!

It's coming for you and me both
This unknown land of emptiness and grief
When we lose our way out of spite or envy
It catches up with us all

It degenerates our brains and melts out ice-molded dreams
If we become comfortable and surrender to momentary pleasure
There is no sure and safe way out, you only have to stick it through
And I'll tell you the same thing I tell myself too

There's no need for false humility, I am aware
Of the discomfort and agony of the uncertain way
If you choose to see it that way
You may just embark on an adventure

Yes. Do that - if nothing else
Venture, don't stop looking and being curious
It's the things that get you the farthest in life
Truth and a load of luck - that is true

True you must remain
Through and through
I am no owner of the only way
Or purpose or every golden rose

I aim to say that you never have to fight alone
You do have to make the most difficult step, though
To say that you need help and admit your imperfection
Takes great courage, if you need it - please, take that step

Don't burn out
Burn in, like a candle that leaves when its time comes
Burn but don't suffer or make others do so
Burn within with passion, so you don't ever burn any other way
