Californiagain
I lost my mind westbound from Phoenix
Palm Springs dried out my double helix
I split my jeans onstage in Fresno
I left my beans in San Francisco
Grabbed a dated shake from Shields
Spinning wheels without an end
In California again
I played the truck stop at the winery
Did not get decked out in my finery
Open mic night at the brewery
Politely rattled all the jewelry
Telly, banjo, and cowbell
Uber-swell new and old friends
In California again
My honey's flying out for the weekend
We'll eye kaleidoscopes in Jerome
She'll keep me 6 inches from the steep end
We'll grab some donuts and then fly home
So I deserted back to Phoenix
Garage bands plotzed my double helix
in a room made out of rhythm
Hugged each saguaro they had with em
Under Arizona sky
Taco Friday talking len-
gua California again
And by the time the time had ended
I found myself best-rock-befriended
Beneath a pergola of paisley
Which never ceases to amaze me
Too much heart for one armoire
Traveled far, soon hope it's when
it's California again
And Arizona again
Go see Sedona again
And California again
