Wide Eyes
Every blade of grass moved as our car sped by doing 65 and we were packed in staring out the window, smiling wide.
We drove into a tunnel and emegered into the spring towards warmer days and new-cracked smiles,
Bluer skies and better things.
And even though another foot of snow has fallen in the past 24, i know that spring´s around the bend.
And even though the city´s frozen over for another night,
I know new winds are on their way,
It´s just a matter of time.
But that never happened, did it?
And though i kept my eyes open,
In the city wind, i couldn´t see shit.
And in the morning we left, back in the back seat.
In the morning,
But i took something with me...
Headphones on and nothing´s gone, in these wide eyes.
