Life at Sea

Philip Miller, Robert Sabochick

Off the beach of Barbados
A black flag was sailing high
Like a raven in the sky

As they sailed farther from the coast
The city masked by a cloud of smoke
All the crew was in the best of health
Counting out the city's wealth

So goes the life at sea
Always floating downstream

After only a week had passed
The crew's morale was falling fast
The money came but quickly went
They couldn't remember how it was spent

So goes the life out at sea
Always floating down stream

It's a funny thing
When life moves like a dream
There's two sides to everything
And a thousand waves to see...

"Hey buddy, how's it going?"
"Oh I don't know, do you ever get to thinking what we're doing out here is wrong?"
"Nah, I don't really get to thinkin' much..."
"I mean, what are we even doing out here? Who's idea was this anyway?..."
