I like to pick my guitar strings, I like to do my own thing
I like to drink a little cold beer come a Saturday night
I like to sit on that old porch swing, with my baby listening to the whippoorwills sing
It’s a simple way of life, but that’s just me

I’d probably make a whole lot more money, if I’d move down to the big city

I like to sit in them sunflower fields, and watch that sun rise up over the hills
See them birds fly in like an old thundercloud
I like to sit in my old deer stand, and wait for that big buck to show up again
