Seven Veils

Some of these feminist women want to try to tell me
That the recent resurgence of extreme porno’s
Gonna turn a lot of virgins into Aileen Wuournos
These ivy-league wardens on the female form
Have been sounding sore notes, but they’re really just stressed
‘Cause they’re too repressed to get thrills from jigglin’ breasts
So if you want to write a critical text about feminine
Oppression and subliminal messages and sexual images
Then, just do what you think is best
But when you’re finished with the righteous intellect you might just
Wanna visit with some women who get into burlesque
Who express their feminism in a crinoline dress
And shed their inhibitions by revealin’ some flesh
There’s no emotions closed off, no poppin’ Zoloft
Just pantyhose droppin’ and the takin’ of all clothes off
And shakin’ what you’ve got and showin’ all your poses off
And takin’ the yoke of male domination and throwin’ it off
Along with your robes and recently exposed bras
So don’t tell me there’s no romance in pole dancin’
It’s an optical erogenous zone expansion dammit

It’s the dance of the seven veils, with ruby red nails
But I can’t make heads or tails
Of whether this is meant to impress the males
Or let the females express themselves

I’m feelin’ quite confused by these women who get offended
By the vice and lewdness of the Moulin Rouge
It’s like a righteous Christian pro-lifer’s views
If you’re tryin’ to take away a woman’s right to choose
Whether to get pleasure from men’s eyes on their boobs
And if they really like it and the guys want it too
Then who are you to say that it isn’t empowering
To make entertainment out of lesbians showering
Together, and oiling each other with ointment?
Are you trying to make a point by souring our enjoyment
Of the spectacle, or by cowering yes-men
And adding specimens to your collection of testicles
In a fishbowl? Tell me yes or no!
I’m an intellectual too, like Cecil Rhodes
I just wanna have my fetishes accepted though
I wanna see feminist academics stripping
In feather boas at my next burlesque show
I wanna see them dirty dancing to my vocals
I wanna see them flirting with me through their bifocals
I’m gonna hold my breath and expect to die hopeful

It’s the dance of the seven veils, with ruby red nails
But I can’t make heads or tails
Of whether this is meant to impress the males
Or let the females express themselves

Oh please oh please express yourself
Never feel like you oppress yourself
Even if it's just to impress the males
Just express yourself, express yourself
