I rode my bike instead

My best friend died when I was 14 we used to go fishing and ride our bikes everyday. I was 15 when he died for the second time I cried at his wake. Although I cried at his funeral I closed my eyes and decided to ride my bike instead. I remember the taste of the air, I remember the wind cutting through my brittle hands as that was the last time I gave it space. I'm 22 years old and I still haven't been to his grave. I ride my bike instead. Because in my head he's still here, as long as I'm riding my bike.
