Aspiracy Theory
[Intro: Jason Silva & Gayle King (Sampled)]
You describe yourself as a self-professed "wonder junkie"
Yeah
So what is it about you, how is it that you look at life that you see what?
Yeah, well I just think that, uh, to be in a perpetual state of wonder is the ultimate antidote to existential malaise, you know?
Um, there's a great line by Michael Pollan he says, "Banality is just a defense against being overwhelmed."
And so, you know when we go through life feelin' maybe, stuck in the mundane, it's sort of safеr than to sort of, gawk at the ubiquitous every day wondеrs that we might be culturally disposed to ignore
And so I'm interested in content and in ideas that, force us out of our comfort zone that, decondition our thinking and make us see things, as if for the first time
[Chorus]
I'll be tryin' to find a better place for us
I'll be tryin' to find a better place for us
[Verse 1]
And can live without food, not without hope
We can extend to the highest highs just need a little rope
And we can, reverse engineer her very glorious standin'
Always be prepared to repair our misunderstandin's
[Chorus]
I'll be tryin' to find a better place for us
I'll be tryin' to find a better place for us
[Verse 2]
Oh, freedom is a go to the poll than the curious
It's a beautiful school to hear it tour out the dust
Oh, freedom
Freedom, ohh
[Chorus]
I'll be tryin' to find a better place for us
I'll be tryin' to find a better place for us
I'll be tryin' to find a better place for us
I'll be tryin' to find a better place, better place
Tryin', better place, better place
Better place, for us
