Little Hands
How could you take away the things we’ve never had
And get our hopes so high just to have them dashed
Though it’s no one’s fault we will take the blame
All in all, it’s selfish to complain about the hands we’ll never hold
All the days you’ll never know
But with her head on my chest it’s not that bad
Aww man, I’ll never understand how some people snap back like a lifeless rubber band
Stay gold, when you’re in the fold, if you never take hold, you never grow old
A bit scared, I swear, but I’m wrapped around your finger twirling around your hair
Floating through the space and falling through the air
Tugging at the strings that you know aren’t fair
The lunacy between the Moon and me
On a sunset beach, waltzing through the street
Drifting out to sea, we’ll find our boat somewhere
And I can see the shoreline from here
Hold on tight, let’s stare down fear
Bless the oil in our lungs and all the things we’ve overcome
Let’s grab the wheel, my dear, and learn to steer
